What is Music Camp?

Music Camp is a week long day camp for kids ages 5 yrs - 5th Grade. Think of it like Vacation Bible School, where the main vehicle for teaching is music and movement. Not only will the campers learn biblical truths they will learn how to share those truths through a musical production.

During the week the campers will get to learn songs, dances, and lines for a musical they will perform on the following Sunday evening.

Each day the campers will rotate through different stations that will keep the day fast paced and fun while also teaching everything they need to know to perform the musical.

The BumbleBEE Attitudes

It's going to BEE a great year at Music Camp.

Jump into a world based on Jesus’s teachings on the Beatitudes!

As you enter Happy Hiveland, you’ll meet Queen Bee, who communicates through dance moves, sporty bees that play buzzketball, the Royal Flowers, who perform as backup singers for the queen, and the visiting Beeanca that brings us into the story! For your older kids, there are skateboarding wasps and the Summer Tanagers, who are Gen Beak” and have their own language that sounds suspiciously like Gen Z.

Most importantly, The Bumble BEEatitudes is full of truth, teaching us the importance of receiving and showing mercy, hungering and thirsting for righteousness, and loving our enemies. Your kids will learn what it means to be poor in spirit and the importance of walking with God through difficult situations in life.

Video Auditions

A new addition for 2025

We want Music Camp to be a fun and learning-filled experience for the campers each year. With the fast-paced nature of creating a musical in a week, giving the campers everything they need to succeed can be a struggle.  To help make camp even better, we are introducing something new this year, video auditions.

Each camper will be able to submit an audition video consisting of a reading and singing a portion of a song. They can also give us the top three roles they want. Once we get this information, our directors will look at it and a cast list will be put together.  

To help implement this process, all songs and the script will be made available before camp begins. Once you sign up, you can start listening to the songs and getting familiar with the material. A link to the material will be sent via confirmation email. The audition material and upload process will be made available starting March 7.

No camper is required to submit a video to attend camp. This is for those who want a solo or speaking part. 

Stations

Throughout the day, campers will experience four activity stations. This will keep the day from getting boring and allow us to teach everything necessary to put on the musical.  

Music

This musical has a selection of fun fast paced songs that are going to be so much fun to learn. During this station campers will learn the songs which include fun melodies and simple harmonies that take a great song and make it even better. Warning: These songs will stick in your head for days.

Class

Our goal with Music Camp is for kids to leave with songs to sing and a message to share. Our bible class takes what the musical teaches and dives deeper with age-appropriate teaching. 

Crafts

Campers will have the opportunity to show of their artistic side in this station. A musical requires a lot of props and during this station the campers will get to help make them.

Games

This station will help kids use any access energy they might have and help them build good relationships with the other kids in their group.
